"The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night." - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The road to success is rough and rugged. It is not possible to have it all, therefore trade-off decisions are needed. Planning is an important tool, but halfway planning is a pitfall that must be avoided at all cost. Instead, plan all the way to the very end. If you are not prepared to do that do not start, you are much better off where you are right now. Planning without strategy is empty planning. Strategy is the ability to understand the past, know the present and project numerous possibilities of occurrences in the future, given the knowledge of the past and the present. The courage to make tough decisions, unpopular though they may be, is also needed and an iron will that will stand tall when all else fall is an essential ingredient.

In all these things be focused. Never look back. Follow one course until success. Never look back. Fortify all battlements. Never look back. Burn all bridges if you must. Never look back. Cut the ties that bind, though well intentioned they may be. Never look back. Stay the course. Raise the Standard high. Guard it with your life. Failure is not an option.

The goal is all. The journey continues....
